Danny/OMC + Steve Jealousy

I'm looking for a fic where Danny starts dating a guy. They meet on the job, he's either a paramedic or part of search and rescue. He's also an ex-Army Ranger, I remember.

Well Steve is very jealous, but when he realizes Danny is really happy he gets depressed and decides to go back to active duty. The other part I remember is that something happens and they think Steve dies.

Hey, sorry for the OT, but since this is the most active fanfic related community I participate in I was hoping someone could point the way. Is there a community (lj or otherwise) for talking about fanfiction on a bit of a meta level - that is, talking about writing fic; the informal rules of different fandoms about linking, posting, etc; IP boundries with original creaters who don't like fic, RPF or writing a 'sequel' to someone else's fic; etc, etc?

You know, the kind of place where I can ask, "What's up with the style of crossover where you rewrite the Princess Bride scene for scene but with characters from MASH in all the roles?" or "Since the show itself reads as pre-slash half the time, should fics that go out of their way to remove any sexual tension from McDanno be tagged as 'de-slash'?"and have it not be off topic? ;-)

I would like recommendations for stories where Danny and Steve raise a child together in addition to Grace. Maybe they adopt or use a surrogate. I am not a big fan of mpreg though.

Looking for a fic on AO3. Danny and Steve are together. Steve has a daughter who the mother didn't want. When Steve and Danny get married(?) they adopt each other's daughters, I think. Grace becomes  bit of a b***h when she gets older and starts bullying Steve's daughter, who she was great friends with before. Steve gets deployed and the mother of his daughter comes back and wants to see the daughter, who doesn't want to see her. And that's all I read. Can anyone help me?
