Ack! Too many "I must whump Danny, so let's make him a bumbling sidekick who can and will be taken by surprize, taken in and/or taken down by anyone and everyone" fics. I need some smart, tough, veteran cop Danny ASAP.

Doesn't have to be BAMF, per se, though some sharpshooting wouldn't go amiss. McDanno always welcome, but I'm easy today.

Thank you for writing this! There's only so much damsel in distress Danny that I can take. I hope there's more competent Danny out there somewhere. 4thoffive, who already posted below, is one of my favorites. Your story about Steve not thinking Danny could pick up a woman was one of my favorites as well. Maybe you'll have to write us some more :-)
