Wow. I've never heard of that either, but now I want to read it IMMEDIATELY (and I'm supposed to be focused on my NaNoWriMo story).

Here's more background if it helps: Danny's mother met his father at church, they fell in love, but she left him when he started acting crazy and was pregnant at the time. Also Danny's dad wants him to join him in killing those he sees as abomination in God's eyes and the dad freaks when Danny tells him he is in a relationship with a man, Steve.

I remember it vaguely and I know the original question is definitely a fic, older I remember reading when I first hit fandom, and I'm pretty sure that the added details are right too just not 100% certain.

i lost all my saved fics when I had my computer meltdown but I'll have a poke around too.
